Bio
Grace Young is a Wichita-based visual artist working primarily in acrylic and mixed media. Her textured, dreamlike paintings explore the relationship between memory, place, and emotion, blending abstraction with recognizable elements of landscape and nature.
A self-taught artist, Grace returned to painting after building a creative career as a photographer, makeup artist, and entrepreneur. Her background in photography continues to shape her approach to light, atmosphere, composition, and visual storytelling.
Inspired by the landscapes of Kansas, memories of the Philippines and places throughout Asia, well as landscapes encountered through travel and imagination… Grace creates works that transform familiar scenery into something remembered, felt, and almost dreamlike.
Her work has been exhibited at Mark Arts and Gallery12 in Wichita. In 2026, her painting Safe Harbor received the People’s Choice Award during Gallery12’s Mini Masterpieces exhibition.
Through her developing body of work, Grace seeks to create a visual language that feels distinctly her own—inviting viewers to experience landscape not simply as a place, but as a memory, emotion, and personal connection.
